His debut memoir Autobiography was an instant Penguin Classic – and now Morrissey has confirmed his next literary venture will be published in the next month.
List of the Lost, Morrissey's debut novel, will be published by Penguin Books, and will be available at the end of September, according to his fansite True to You .
A post on the fansite read: “Morrissey's first novel, List of the Lost , will be published by Penguin Books (UK) at the end of September. The book will be issued in softcover/paperback as a New Fiction title, and comes almost two years after Morrissey's very successful Autobiography publication of October 2013.
“Penguin Books will confirm an on sale date within this coming week. List of the Lost will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.”

There are no details yet about what the novel will be about.
Morrissey’s Joycean Autobiography was met with scepticism, with The Independent’s chief literary critic Boyd Tonkin describing it to have “droning narcissism and the whine of self-pity”.
“A Penguin Classic? Not in a month of rainy Mancunian Sundays,” he wrote.
But it went on to top the bestseller charts and set a new record for first-week sales of a music autobiography.
