Event Description

Millennial LGBTQ creatives consider what Pride means today as intersectionality and allyship emerge as pressing ideas.

One year after millions of people came to New York for Pride and the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, Covid-19 caused the City to cancel the march for the first time in its half-century history. But as people around the world rise up to affirm that Black Lives Matter and to protest the systemic racism that drives economic inequality, police brutality, and much more, queer millenials are reframing what liberation means for their generation.

In a conversation that considers what intersectionality, allyship, and mobilization mean today, Lama Rod Owens speaks with creative queer millenials, including Ianne Fields Stewart and Fran Tirado about the legacies of their ancestors, the work of today, and the pride of their identities.

This is the third event in our series Pride Across Generations, a trio of programs convened online June 22-24, 2020. View the full list of programs here.
